Our philosophy

What does “education for life” mean?

01

Discipline in small doses

We plant discipline as a deep-rooted trait through small tasks that come in small doses and stages, until the mind is wired to do them and keep doing them for the long run: take the class, study it in the time it needs, send the homework on time, and pay a fine if you don't follow through. Later in life, they can't live with unfinished tasks, because they've built the mindset that runs a disciplined, and therefore successful, life.

02

Learning is enjoyable

Explaining, solving and training are always enjoyable. Why? Because there's an easy, smart way to get the idea into your mind, someone who makes sure you really understand, and someone who follows up on your tasks to make sure you're getting them done.

03

Everything with a pen

Learning by doing: the hardest way to learn, and the best. As our grandparents used to say, what you do with your own hands you never forget. Scientifically, the more senses we use, the more channels carry the message to the brain, so understanding, focus and speed all grow until we reach mastery.

04

Grit, patience and perseverance

Students learn grit, patience and perseverance when we give them long tasks that take hours or days and real stamina, and hold them accountable for them. Nothing is left to chance, as in the One Day Challenge and our camps.

05

A family atmosphere

An atmosphere where time flies: students enjoy themselves and, most importantly, they study and invest their time. It pulls them away from screens and phones so they meet people from different backgrounds, learning how to talk and connect, how to weigh their words, and how to observe others' behavior, sometimes to critique it and sometimes to learn from it.

06

The power of the group

Being part of a mixed group, kind and annoying, bright and lazy, but everyone working, everyone trying, everyone studying with a pen, makes studying feel lighter and keeps you going: if they're working, why shouldn't I?

07

Psychological, educational and behavioral care

Direct care from a small, close-knit community with one shared goal: it holds you when you're anxious or angry, helps you when you're lost and comforts you when you're upset. It puts you in situations that sometimes push you, sometimes ease off and sometimes scare you, and that's how students learn to handle their emotions and the ups and downs they go through.

08

Training under pressure

We put you under real pressure: hard questions, a running timer, little time, someone nagging, and distractions. We corner you so you learn to work under any conditions, and each time your performance has to be stronger.

09

Logical, analytical thinking

Logical, analytical thinking rewires your mind, especially when you work with subjects like physics and math. Once you master them, your ideas follow a sequence and become organized, which means organized solutions.

10

Well trainedWell trained

Frequent exams and tests wipe out the anxiety we feel when we sit an exam, and the freeze that can hit us while solving, simply because we're well trained.

11

The hidden bond

We build friendships and connections, so even at university and beyond the office there's a hidden bond between us, simply because we studied at Dr. Safi. That's a secret nobody else knows.

And we say it again: we don't turn students into perfect people, but we promise to bring out the best version of you, as long as you commit with us.
Tomorrow you'll be doctors, engineers, programmers and accountants, and, God willing, successful wherever life takes you, because success starts here. We know our students, and we'd back them against anyone in the world.

اللي بيدخل عندكم إشي، بيطلع إشي تاني تماماً.»“If you’re not a strong student, they make you one. If you are, they make you a doctor… in everything, not just physics. Whoever walks in as one thing walks out as something else entirely.”

Former student

بتحكيلي وهي بتحل السؤال بتتذكّر شو كان يحكي الدكتور، وبتحل على طريقته.»“My daughter changed 180 degrees with you… She tells me that when she’s solving a question, she remembers what the Doctor said and solves it his way.”

Mother of a Tawjihi student

وكيف اتغيّرت نفسية بنتي عندكم.»“I’ve never in my life seen such honesty and care in lifting a student up, taking them from nothing to everything… and how my daughter’s whole outlook changed with you.”

Father of a student

وطلعت الفيزيا مش هالمادة اللي خوّفونا منها، لما حدا صح يفهّمك إياها صح.»“In the exam, I could see every word the Doctor had said right in front of me. Physics turned out not to be the monster they scared us with, once the right person explains it the right way.”

Tawjihi student

كنتوا طول الوقت جزء من عيلتنا.»“The exam was easy, not because it was easy, but because we were with you, and we’re your kids. You stood with us every step, and we’ll never forget your part in our lives. You were family the whole time.”

Tawjihi student

معكم بنجبر يدرس ويحل.»“My son filled a whole math notebook… for the first time we’re buying him a second one, and he does his homework! For us, that’s magic. With you, he simply has to study and solve.”

Mother of a student

إنتو الناس اللي مستحيل ننساهم.»“You taught us physics and math, how to sweep the floor, how to study… everything. You’re the people we could never forget.”

Tawjihi student

Thank you for following up with the students with so much love… you were a sister and a friend to my son.”

Mother of a student

دايماً إنتو غير، وإلكم أثر غير.»“If you hadn’t pushed me with the solving and the exams, I wouldn’t have walked out of the exam at ease… You’re always different, and so is the mark you leave.”

Our story

“Your son’s doing fine… he’s doing great.”

Dr. Abdulmuti Safi has been teaching Tawjihi since 1991. But in 2011 he found himself on the other side of the table: a father, with his eldest son Naeem in his Tawjihi year.

That’s when he saw it from the parents’ side. Teachers reassure you, “Your son’s fine, he’s doing great,” and at the end of the year, when it’s already too late, you find out he wasn’t really studying. Everyone tells the student “go study,” and he says “I am”… but the truth is, nobody ever taught him how.

So the Doctor decided to open his own office and teach his students there. Honestly, back then we didn’t know what he had in mind. Now we do.

Every service here was created for a reason

By God’s grace, we started to grow, and our services took shape around what our students needed:

  • Ramzi Lalas: the first student we ever asked to send his homework on WhatsApp the same day. Since then, homework here never waits until tomorrow.
  • Feedback quizzes: explaining was never enough for the Doctor. He wanted to be sure every student went home understanding.
  • Training sessions: they started with the girls of the Sisters of Nazareth School, every Friday.
  • Brainstorming: it started with Shamel Sougar. Today Shamel is a football player and coach, and every time we see his photos we remember how he used to drive his mom crazy and never study.
  • Encouragement: we call our students and cheer them on: “Come on, you can do this.” We’re with them before the national exam and on the night before, and when they walk out, they’re the ones who call to reassure us.

That’s how we ended up with a list of services, an interview before registration, and a waiting list that fills up a year in advance.

Every generation changes, and we change with it

To this day, Dr. Abdulmuti studies each generation before he teaches it: its needs and changes, how technology and social media have shaped it, its study conditions, and how parents follow up and raise their children. That gives him a clear picture of where the journey will lead. And every year he gives us new instructions:

  • We adjust explanation and class times to their stamina and attention span.
  • We wisely handle behavior that we might see as wrong but they see as normal.
  • We know how much help a student needs, how to give it, and when to stop.

At first we give close, intensive care. We hold the student’s hand firmly, then let go little by little, until they can rely on themselves and learn to study without us.

And the secret is the pen: the more senses at work, the more routes the information takes to the brain, so we know they truly understand and it stays with them.

All so we keep up with their generation, their teenage years and their way of thinking, and truly be there for them.

Their second home

We’ve graduated generation after generation, and we’re still in touch. They visit us, we love them and they love us. They’re not students who come and go; they’re our kids. We still remember every detail of what they used to do, and we hope they remember us fondly.

Our office is their safe place and their second home. Honestly, this is our home: we eat, drink, rest, talk, laugh, shout, get told off and tell each other off… everything, everything.

This is our home. And theirs.
